Stephen Michael Rock

Mayor of Horwich: 2005-06 (Liberal Democrat)

Born: 14 Penn Street, Horwich 9 February 1959

Educated: Rivington and Blackrod Grammar School

Fitter (Engineering) Bolton Gate Co and British Rail Horwich and later worked as a lecturer in Further Education and adult training.

Born in Horwich and like many other men worked at the Horwich Loco Works until its closure in 1983.

Represented Horwich North East Ward on Bolton Council.

Director Bolton At Home, GMPTA, GMPA, Fire and Rescue Authority.

Leader of Horwich Council.

Opened the new and expanded Horwich Heritage Centre as Mayor of Horwich on 2 December 2005.

(The original Heritage Centre was opened on 10 October 1995 by then Mayor of Horwich, John Bragg.)

Anglican.

His wife, Lynn, was Mayoress.

"I have always had unusual hobbies including keeping lizards, fencing, archery, karate and medieval re-enactments and history".
