Timothy Grisdale

Chemist and druggist.
Son of Jonas Grisdale, publican - landlord of the Cattle Market Inn on Orlando Street, Bolton.
He cut first sod of the new waterworks to supply Westhoughton with water on 22 July 1878.
Member of the Burial Board and Poor Law Guardian. He took an active part at elections in support of the Conservatives, was a supporter of the half yearly cattle fairs and in every possible way promoted the interests of the township.
Anglican - he worshipped at St Bartholomew's Church and is buried in the graveyard there.
