Chairman of Horwich Urban District Council: 1896-97 (Conservative)

Born: Bolton 1845

Died: Wilderswood, Horwich, 7 November 1904

Cotton Spinner.

Succeeded his father, William Greenhalgh, first Chairman of Horwich Local Board, as owner of the Wilderswood Cotton Doubling Mill.

Nephew of James Greenhalgh, Mayor of Bolton 1877-78.

Represented North Ward from 1894.

He was the Captain of Horwich Cricket Club for twenty years and was also an active member of Bolton Cricket Club.

Chairman of Horwich Conservative Club.

Overseer of the Poor.

Anglican - he was Churchwarden at Horwich Parish Church and was also a Manager of the Church School

Freemason.
