Two of his younger brothers were killed in the First World War:
Stephen Glaister was killed in action in France on 9 April 1917 while serving as a Private in the 8th Bn, Royal Fusiliers. He was 20.
George Glaister was killed in action in Belgium on 31 July 1917 while serving as a Lieutenant with 1st/5th Bn, The Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. He was 26.
